Jewell Hall – 97
of Hahira, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 12, 1926, in Hahira to the late Noah and Armetta (Johnson) Boyette. Jewell was married to H. R. Hall, who had a long career in the United States Navy before retiring. As a military family, they experienced the hard work and dedication of service members firsthand. This inspired her to become actively involved with the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA), where she felt honored to assist disabled veterans and their families.
Jewell was a dedicated member of Fellowship Baptist Church, attending faithfully until she was no longer able to. She cherished spending time outdoors, nurturing a variety of flowers in her garden, which was one of her favorite pastimes, along with sewing and crocheting. Over the years, she created many unique crocheted pieces. Jewell was also a passionate jigsaw puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed having her grandchildren join her in piecing them together. The presence of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always brightened her day, bringing a smile to her face. She loved their visits and cherished the love they shared. Affectionately known as “Grandma Jewell,” she had a gentle spirit and a soft-spoken nature.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.R. Hall, her sisters, Dorothy Nichols (Frank), Mattie Ruth Jefferson (Hamp), Sarah Layton (Tom) and her brothers, Kenneth Boyette (Grace), Bryant Boyette, and Lamar Boyette.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Hall Harris (Robert) of Hahira, Georgia, her son, Charles Hall (Sandra), also of Hahira. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Courtney Warren (Will) of Hahira; her grandson, Jared Hall (Amanda) of Hahira; her granddaughter, Jocelyn Tanner (Matt) of Thomasville; and her grandson, Evan Smith (Kristan) of Brunswick. Additionally, she leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Darlene Boyette.
