Jimmie Donald Sharp, more affectionately known by friends as "Jimbo", 85, of Valdosta, GA went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. He combined his devotion to his country and his love for the air by once working as a pilot for Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign. He later completed his career as a pilot flying for Dowling Bag Company of Valdosta, GA.
Everyone who met Jim was captivated by his generous spirit, his quick wit and his ability to tell a great story. A brief encounter or a round of golf with Jim would leave you with something to ponder and a memory of being kept on your toes by his charismatic personality. If you spent an hour or a day listening to his adventures or his educated views you walked away knowing it was time well spent. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Faye Hahn.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Wanda Sharp of Valdosta, GA; son, Donald Thomas Sharp of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Sharon Lynn Joseph and son in law, Tim of Houston, TX, Susan Leigh Patrick of Katy, TX; grandchildren; Emily Jacks, Jordan Patrick, Matthew Patrick, Brennan Potter, Zack Sharp, Jake Sharp, and numerous nieces and nephews.
