Of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 29, 1945, in Lakeland, Georgia, to the late Ivor Leo Golden and Ebbar (Bellflower) Golden. He had a deep passion for fishing and farming, always finding peace and joy in the outdoors. Working in the yard was another favorite pastime—he loved tending to the land, keeping it neat, and creating a welcoming environment. A true believer in staying busy, he found fulfillment in a wide variety of activities. As a handyman, there was no task he couldn’t tackle, always willing to fix, build, or improve whatever was needed. His love for selling cars reflected his dynamic spirit, always engaging with people and finding them the perfect vehicle. A true “jack of all trades,” he thrived on versatility and practicality, never shying away from any challenge. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers: Edward Golden, Rob Golden, Melvin Golden, and Earl Golden; his sister, Erma King.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Annette (Gregory) Golden; daughters: Lori Golden of Nashville, Georgia, and Dorothy Thompson (Lee) of Gray, Georgia; sons: Carl Gregory (Dee) of Stockton, Georgia, Rome Edward Gregory of Macon, Georgia, and Jerry Gregory (Angie) of Byron, Georgia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; honorary son, Tony King of Lakeland, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 am, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in the Lakeland chapel of Music Funeral Services with a procession to the cemetery following the visitation.
