Of Lake Park, GA passed away on August 18, 2014 at his residence. He was born on June 13, 1941 in Williston, FL to Eugene and Caroline Sapp Green. He served in the United States Coast Guard as a merchant seaman and with the Merchants Marines for 12 years. Following his service he established Prestige Construction Company which was in business for over 20 years. Mr. Green loved working with his hands and building things. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lake Park.
His survivors include his Wife of 22 years, Judi Green of Lake Park, GA; Son, Jimmy Green, II of Valdosta, GA; Step Daughters, Cindy & Alan Ayers of Hagerstown, MA, Michele & David Henthorne of Benton, AR; Sisters & Brothers-in-Law, Maxine & Robert Williams of Orange, TX, Jean & Jack Hill of Enterprise, AL; Cousins, Pat & William Hutchings of Jacksonville, FL,
Cynthia & Jimmy Roberson of Destin, FL, Rita Mobley of Jasper, FL, Nancy Watson, Live Oak, FL and Diane McCartney of Jacksonville, FL; Brother-in-Law & Sister-in-Law, Paul & Denise McKenzie of Hahira, GA and Kenneth & Loyce McKenzie of Owensboro, KY; a number of nieces & nephews and Lifetime Friends, Billy Guess of Valdosta, GA and Edward Miller of Lake Park, GA
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014 in the First Baptist Church of Lake Park, GA with Rev. Robert Dawson and Rev. Jason Spell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. As per his wishes he will be cremated following the services.
