Jimmy Mancil – 77
Of Lakeland, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born August 19, 1933 in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Kermit Roosevelt and Agnes Curry Mancil. He worked as General Manager with Fabwel, Inc., in Douglas for 32 years. He purchased Lakeland Oil Company in 1976 and it continues to be a family owned company today. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was an active lifetime member of the Unity United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lakeland Lodge #434, Hasan Shrine Temple in Albany and the Lakeland/Lanier County Development Authority.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011 in the Unity United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Mancil will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The men of Unity are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and need to meet at the church at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Unity United Methodist Church 224 Unity Church Road, Lakeland, GA 31635 or Peanut Butter and Jesus Ministry, Attn: Kay Joyce, 8 Joyce Road, Lakeland, GA 31635.
