Of Lakeland, GA passed away Sunday morning March 28, 2004 at his residence following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Lanier County, Ga. and had lived in the Lakeland area most of his life. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1977, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 4382 in Waycross. He retired from Brockway Container in Homerville, worked at Carolina Skiff in Waycross and Wild Adventures, Valdosta in the security department.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Thomas - Lakeland, GA; Daughter & Son-In-Law, Sandy and Danny Drawdy Nashville, GA; Son & Daughter-In-Law, Robert and Sherry Thomas, Graham, NC, Step Daughter & Son-In-Law, Nikki and Justin Blanchard, Macon, GA, Stepson, Alan Wheeler, Brunswick, GA, Stepson, Jessi Wheeler, Lakeland, GA
6 Grandchildren
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. Rev. Hugh Corbitt officiated.
Music included, Go Rest High On That Mountain, Greater Place and Amazing Grace.
Active pallbearers included John Kingery, Claude Middleton, Fran Middleton, Kelly Cole, Fred Reick and Hamp Pittman
