Jimmy Derrell Tomlinson – 75
Of Mayday, GA passed away Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at his home. He was born on August 7, 1942 in Valdosta, GA to the late Jefferson Davis “J.D.” Tomlinson and Johnnie Lee Moore Tomlinson. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Tomlinson was retired from reforestation and farming. He owned and operated Tomlinson Tree Planting and Pine Straw. He loved listening to bluegrass and attending festivals with his family.
Survivors include: Wife of 38 years, Joyce H. Tomlinson of Mayday, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law, Lori &Ryan Tenery of Mayday, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Brian & Grace McCann of Mayday, GA; Grandchildren: Chloe Tenery, Kalee McCann, Noah McCann, Ashlee & Anthony Horton, Selena Koehmstedt & Fiancé Eddie Luviano, Michael Scoggin & Fiancé Helen McGhee; 2 Great Grandchildren: Aubree Horton and Kensley Rogers; Sister & Brother-in-law, Sandra Gail and Lynn Hughes of Lake Park, GA; Sister & Brother-in-law, Anita & Hank Mayer of Lake Park, GA; Brother & Sister-in-law, Clyde & Kathryn Tomlinson of Valdosta, GA; Other survivors include many loved nieces and nephews. Mr. Tomlinson is also survived by his loving caregiver Jessica Flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Wayfare Cemetery.
