Jimmy Lee Vaughn Sr.

Jimmy Lee Vaughn Sr., age 79, of Nashville, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born to loving parents, Horace and Lula (Rogers) Vaughn in Lakeland, GA on June 11, 1947.

Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Sarah “Dianne” Vaughn, for over 57 years. Jimmy and Dianne were truly two peas in a pod, always by each other’s side and supporting one another through everything life brought their way.

Together, they raised their children, with Jimmy teaching them the value of hard work and, more importantly, how to be good people—not simply by telling them, but by showing them through the way he lived his life. He proudly owned and operated Vaughn’s Paving alongside his family, creating not only a business, but a legacy built on hard work and family.

After retiring, Jimmy could often be found headed to the mountains or off to a creek somewhere, enjoying the outdoors, making memories, and listening to Blue Grass music with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Royals, Mary Nell Chaney, Judy Palmer, Doris Vaughn, and Betty Vaughn; brothers, Junior Vaughn, John A. Vaughn, Charles Vaughn, Billy Vaughn, and Donald Vaughn.

Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dianne W. Vaughn of Nashville, Ga; daughter Paula Fitzgerald of Lakeland; sons, Jimmy Lee (Amanda) Vaughn Jr. of Winchester, VA and Bryan (Lynn) Vaughn of Nashville, GA; four grandsons, Gunnar Fitzgerald, Vaughn (Logan) Fitzgerald, Davey (Emily) Vaughn and Bryson (Blair) Vaughn; four great grandchildren, Colton Fitzgerald, Emerson Vaughn, Cole Vaughn and Lainey Vaughn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Visitation will be held the night prior on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. A burial is to follow the service in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
