JoAnn Joy Olson
At the age 82, residing in Valdosta, Georgia, she peacefully passed away on March 14, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 11, 1941, in Morris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Daisy (Olson) Olson. During her youth, she pursued endeavors as a Barbizon model and a Baton twirler. Her career was as a clerk for the government at the VA Hospital. JoAnn cherished moments spent attending concerts and movies with her friends, as well as relishing outdoor picnics in the company of her family and close companions. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Karine Buberle, Beverly Kuzel, her brothers, Bud “Buddy” Olson, Gerald “Jerry” Olson, and a son-in-law, Dennis Earl Van Amburg.
She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Crews and Penny Van Amburg, residing in Valdosta, Georgia; along with her grandson, Aaron Van Amburg (Jamie) also of Valdosta, Georgia; and her great grandchildren, Mason Lee Van Amburg, Clayton and Addalynn all residing in Valdosta, Georgia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
