Joseph F. Reilly died on November 2, 2015, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. He was born October 22, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Elsie Brown Reilly. He attended Bache Elementary School, William Penn Jr. High, and Northeast Public High School. Joe spent 35 years in the trucking industry and retired from Teamsters Local 107 in 1989. Joe married Loretta Jane Plonski Reilly in 1955 in Philadelphia, PA. They were blessed with 3 children: Joanne Wileczek Reilly, Joseph H. Reilly Lois, and John F. Reilly Michelle. Joe and Loretta relocated from Philadelphia to Valdosta in 1991 and have been active members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church ever since. While in retirement in Valdosta, Joe drove a school bus for St. Johns, taught commercial driving, coordinated bingo events, and was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus where he was a 3rd Degree Knight. He enjoyed fishing and collecting coins and stamps.
Joe is survived by his wife Loretta of 61 years, sister Barbara Longo Kenny, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, Melanie Wileczek Joanne, Joseph L. Reilly and Joyce Ann Reilly Joseph, Luke C. Reilly and Madison M. Reilly John, and extended family residing throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida.
Memorial services will be held 12:00PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Valdosta, GA with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
