He was born on February 3, 1942 in Lakeland, GA to the late Homer Clayton Slaughter and the late Dorothy Juanita Tomlinson Slaughter. He served in the United States Air Force and was an insurance salesman for American General Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Loch Laurel Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Eleanor Darlington Slaughter.
