John "Jack" Brogdon

John Jack H. Brogdon- 85


Of Valdosta, GA passed away November 22, 2013 after a short illness in Holly Hill Nursing Home. He was born in Jacksonville, Illinois December 6, 1927 to the late Irvin Brown & Mary Elizabeth Hennessey Brogdon. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army before working as a machinist with Carnation Company and Jacksonville Machine and Boiler Works. Mr. Brogdon was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and the American Legion. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Loyd Jr Brogdon and Carl Sonny Brogdon.


Survivors Include: Wife, Margaret Brogdon, Valdosta, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law, Beth & Mike Rigor, Murrayville, IL; Daughter, Abby Andre, Plant City, FL; Daughter, Tina Brogdon, Reddington Beach, FL; Daughter & Son-in-law, Tammy & Bruce Wilcox, Illiopolis, IL, Daughter & Son-in-law, Anne & Dan Drake, Charleston, IL; Grandchildren: Mark & Leah Brock, Carrie & Matt West, Morgan Andre, Ally Wilcox, Jonathon Wilcox, James Crowder, Jason Hoover, Justin & Venus Hoover; Great Grandchildren- 5; Sisters, Margaret Piper and Catherine Grady; Sister-in-law, Mildred Brogdon and several Nieces and Nephews and Extended Family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am November 27, 2013 in New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
