John “Bubba” William Copeland, Jr., 69 of Clyattville, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on March 4, 1952 to the late Sara Nona Wisenbaker Copeland and John William Copeland, Sr. He enjoyed helping others, doing mechanic work in his shop, tending to his garden, yard work, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed relaxing in his chair with his sidekick, Douglas, his chihuahua, to watch football and the Atlanta Braves play baseball. His greatest and most beautiful treasure of his life is his wife of 38 years Teresa. He worked over three decades for TSG.
Bubba is survived by his wife Teresa Ann Copeland of Valdosta, Georgia, his son, Bryan Lloyd Howell of Junction City, Kansas; Daughter-in-Law, Evelyn Howell of El Paso, Texas; his grandchildren: Bryan William Howell, Marissa Bryanna Howell, Kellan Jose Howell; his siblings and their spouses: Raymond and Linda Copeland of Valdosta, Georgia , Johnny and BB Copeland of Valdosta, Georgia, Wanda and Charlie Spray of Valdosta, Georgia , Sandra and Darrell Seckinger of Naylor, Georgia, Donna and Hardy Bennett of Valdosta, Georgia, and Kathy Copeland of Valdosta, Georgia, Sharon and Nick Banks of Jacksonville, Florida; his brothers-in-law and their spouses, Gary and Adlelee Howell of Valdosta, Georgia, Robbie and Carolyn Howell of Valdosta, Georgia and his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Janet and John Hyams of Valdosta, Georgia and Gail Howell of Valdosta, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rodney William Copeland, his brothers Randall Copeland and Jody Copeland, his sister-in-law Gail Copeland; sisters, Eva Nell Shiver, Connie Powers, Betty Griner; and his brother-in-law Rickey Howell.
In Bubba’s short time, he touched so many lives by simple conversation, teaching, helping, or with a good belly laugh. For all those that were graced with the wonderful gift that he gave to all of us, his caring heart and contagious laughter, please join us for graveside services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 12:30 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
