John Lawrence Jimerson

John Lawrence Jimerson, 41 of Valdosta, Ga passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Minot, North Dakota on November 29, 1976 to Eugene Buckley and Donna (Zeltinger) Jimerson of Valdosta. John was a graduate of Lowndes High 1997. He was an avid music person and sports fan. He was a student football coach at Lowndes. Every Friday he would call Rock 108 for his music requests and football picks for all the weekend games. On the radio he was known as “Johnny the Greek”. He worked part time at Quincy’s Steak House and Target. His favorite past time was bingo and going to the Huddle House for coffee with the Boys. He had a heart of gold, whether he gave 5% of 110% and a crazy personality. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. He never met a stranger.
Along with his parents he is survived by: Brother & Sister-in-law: Justin & Mary Jimerson, Norfolk, Virginia; Niece: Mckenna Jimerson, Norfolk, Virginia and a number of aunts, uncle & cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the funeral home. As per his wishes he will be cremated following services.
