John Scott Moncrief

John Scott Moncrief – 71 of Lakeland Georgia passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 in the South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Wauchula, Florida to the late Howard “Skinny” and Mazy Ethell (Vickery) Moncrief. Mr. John served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Lakeland Masonic Lodge # 434, American Legion Post 336, and Scottish Rights Association. He had a passion for smoking BBQ and always loved to cook for others. He also loved working in his garden, flowers and going fishing. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Louise Moncrief, and a brother H. L. Moncrief.
Survivors include: 3 Daughters, Gwenda Nash (Roger) of Homerville, GA, Johnnie Lynn Roddenberry (Julian) of Lakeland, GA, Corinne Lou Deese (James Lambert) of Homerville, GA; Grandchildren: Christina, John, Cody, Lee, Earnest; Great Granddaughters: Brilee, Audrey, Cypress; 2 Sisters, Rose Lee Dowdy of Poke County, FL, Avy Nell Alexander of Indian Lake Estates, FL.
After cremation the family will hold a graveside service at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Fort Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle, FL where his cremains will be buried beside his wife.
