Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born March 18, 1942 in Clinch County, GA to the late Julian and Keron Smith Newbern.
Mr. Newbern was a truck driver by trade and a member of Azalea Lodge # 716, Hasan Shriners and was Pentecostal by faith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a Sister Lillian Wilson, and 3 brothers George Newbern, Oscar Newbern, and Theo Newbern

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602
