John "Johnny” Rayford Stanfield (61), of Lakeland, passed away on June 25, 2024 at his residence. He was born on February 13, 1963 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was a loving father and grandfather. In his professional life, he was the proud owner of JS Drywall, and many referred to him as "the best in the business". Johnny enjoyed building hot rods, racing, and drinking coffee with friends, old and new. In other words, he never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Roy Thornton.
Johnny is survived by his parents, Beatrice Cook Thornton of Lakeland, Georgia, and Richard Stanfield of New Mexico, his daughter, Amber Bradford (Paul) of Valdosta, Georgia, two sisters, Diane Stanfield (Tony) of Lakeland, Georgia, and Debra Wilkerson (Jerry) of Lakeland, Georgia, the mother of his child, Kim Stanfield of Lakeland, Georgia, and his girlfriend, Amanda Fortson of Lakeland, Georgia. His legacy includes one granddaughter, Gracelyn Lee of Homerville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial in Empire Cemetery in Lanier County. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the funeral home.
