Hahira

John Thomas Reynolds, 81, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on August 8, 2026. Born on July 24, 1945, in Springfield, Illinois, to the late Odes Reynolds and the late Mary Louise (Schleutker) Condee, John lived a full life defined by service to his country, hard work, and a deep love for his family.

After high school, John answered the call to serve his country, joining the Air Force and serving as an Airman in Thailand during the Vietnam War. That experience shaped him in lasting ways and instilled in him a deep respect for those who serve. He carried that commitment forward as a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders, standing in honor of fallen veterans with the same respect and dedication he brought to everything he did. After his time in the Air Force, John built a career with the phone company in Naples, Florida, starting out as an installation and repair man and working his way up to retire as an engineer. He brought the same work ethic to everything he did, whether on the job or at home with the people he loved most.

You could usually spot him with his ever-present Atlanta Braves hat; a signature look that was as much a part of him as his generous spirit. When he wasn't spending time with his family, his greatest passion, John, could be found out on his motorcycle, feeling the open road or on the dock or on his boat, forever chasing the big one or at the bowling alley knocking down pins and he loved the camaraderie of hunting and camping.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Odes Reynolds and Mary Louise (Don) Condee, and his sister, Donna Louise Spencer. He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Anne Reynolds; his daughter, Mary Beth (Jeff) Cummings; his son, Christopher James Reynolds; his sister, Janet Reynolds; and his brother, Brett Reynolds; along with many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
