John Rudy – 78
Of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, December 03, 2008 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 19, 1930 in Santa Rosa, California to the late Paul Passmore & Clarinel Ione Rudy. Mr. Rudy served as a jet pilot during the Korean War. In the 1950's he taught high school in California. He was a College Professor at Florida Junior College and VSU from 1958-1986. At VSU, he taught speech and drama. He produced and directed yearly theater productions at VSU and established the radio and television department at VSU. He won numerous awards for outstanding teaching. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rudy and a son, Mark Rudy.
Survivors include:Sons & Daughter-in-law, Griffin Rudy, Valdosta, GA, Michael, Jr. & Midori Rudy, Denver, CO, Daughter, Linda Long, Moultrie, GA, Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Michael & Judy Rudy, Washington, DC, Jerry & Margaret Rudy, Santa Rosa, CA, Jim & Lynn Rudy, Burkley, CA, Sister, Linda Rudy, Santa Rosa, CA
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2008 in Sunset Hill Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. No formal visitation will be held.
