John Lawrence Salek, Jr. – 87

Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Friday morning, August 7, 2015 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on September 12, 1927 in Raritan, NJ to the late John and Margaret Strelko Salek, Sr. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He retired as a system analyst with Triangle industries in New Brunswick, NJ after 30 years of service. Following retirement he worked in heating and air conditioning sales for a number of years. He was preceded in death by a son, John Salek and a brother, Ray Salek.

Survivors include his Wife of 43 years, Lynne Salek of Valdosta, GA; 3 Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Bryan & Julie Salek of Tampa, FL, Kenny Salek of Nokomis, FL, Richard & Michelle Salek of Somerville, NJ; 2 Granchildren, Colton and Cassidy; Sister, Irene Sixt of Raritan, NJ; Sisters-in-Law, Sandy Salek of NJ, Mary Hopper of Valdosta, GA, Barbara Geair of AZ and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. John Catholic Church, 800 Gornto Rd., Valdosta, GA 31602.
