John W. Stone, age 65, of Stockton, Georgia died, Monday, March 16, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family members. He was born April 16, 1954, in Lakeland, Georgia to the late Roy and Agnes Sirmans Stone. He was a retired heavy equipment operator that worked with James McGuire Company and Ricky Roberts Construction Company. John never met a stranger and was humorous, “better to laugh than cry” and Kind and Generous. Also known as the Sheriff of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Stone.
His is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Livingston Stone of Stockton; a daughter and son-in-law: Angela S. Seckinger and husband Greg of Stockton; son and daughter in-law: John David Stone and wife Michelle of Naylor, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law: Barbara “B.B.” S. Daniels and husband Buck of Stockton, Georgia; grandchildren, Courtney Carter, Lindsay Stone, Shelby Daniels, Taylor Daniels, John Michael Stone, Jessie Daniels and Josie Daniels; great-grandchildren: Little man Carter and Waylon Vann; brothers and sisters: Sue Tucker, R. J. Stone, James Stone, Janie McGuire, Reba Dent, Peggy Browning, Wilhemina Williford, Bob Stone, Becky Corbitt and Lena Connell.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 6:00PM -8:00PM at Music Funeral Services, 88 West Main Street, Lakeland, Georgia 31635. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services, with a private family burial. The Stone family is being served by the compassionate and caring staff of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland Chapel.
