Of Valdosta passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 30, 1922 in Brunswick, GA to the late Frank & Mary Rowe Thomas. He served in the United States Air Force and retired as a MSGT after 29 years of service. He served during, WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War. Following retirement he served his community by working with LARC for 14 years. He was a member of VFW and American Legion Post 13.
Survivors include:Wife of 50 years, Manuela Thomas, Valdosta, GA, Daughter, Elisa Thomas, Tampa, FL, Son & Daughter-in-law, John M. & Brenda Thomas, Lake Park, GA, 5 Grandchildren: Catherine Prince David, Carol Chase Eddie, Allan Alba Thomas, Antonio Thomas, John Austin Thomas Morgan, and Taylor Lee Thomas, 3 Great Grandchildren: Hunter & Austin Chase and John Austin Thomas, Jr., Sister, Mary Deloach, Strattville, AL
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 20, 2009 in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the funeral home.
