Johnny Lamar Guess

Johnny Lamar Guess, 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center.

He was born on August 26, 1945, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Wallace Guess and Bernice Jacobs Guess. Johnny was a hardworking man who spent many years alongside his father in the construction industry, taking great pride in providing through honest work. He continued working until declining health no longer allowed him to do so. Outside of work, Johnny found his greatest enjoyment in the outdoors. He loved spending time fishing and coon hunting.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Guess; his daughter, Diane Guess; his sister, Frances Griffin; and his brother, Tommy Lee Guess.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Baldelli; son, Johnny Lamar Guess, Jr.; several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Hall Cemetery in Morven, Georgia.
