Johnny Joe Padgett

Johnny Joe Padgett, age 78, of Quitman, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born in Homerville, GA on January 3, 1948, to loving parents Josh and Cleona Padgett.

For many years, he worked as a moonshiner.

He was an outdoorsman that loved to hunt, fish. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Alonzo Padgett.

Johnny is survived by his son, John Padgett (Lori) of Valdosta, GA, and daughter Nikkie Padgett of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Haley Padgett, Timothy Padgett, Logan Padgett and Lexi Bennett; brothers Buddy Padgett, of Needmore, GA; Waver Padgett of Needmore, GA and Wayne Padgett of Needmore, GA; sisters, Mary Ann Padgett of Valdosta, GA and Jo Ann Padgett of Statenville, GA and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
