Johnny Ew Vickers

Mr. Johnny Drew Vickers passed away early Sunday morning, September 4th, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. He was born on March 22nd, 1939 in Hahira, GA to Henry Paul and Treva Courson Vickers. He was a kind, loving, and patient man who loved his family unconditionally. Mr. Vickers was a hardworking farmer all his life, known for producing hay and various crops, as well as tending to his cattle. He enjoyed fishing at the river with his family and friends. He retired as a Lieutenant from the City of Valdosta Fire Department after 28 years of service. Mr. Vickers was a loyal member of Salem Primitive Baptist where he served as a Deacon. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Howard Paul Vickers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Rudine Hutto Vickers of Hahira, GA; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Sandra and Charles Hall of Hahira, GA; Daughter, Janet Newton of Hahira, GA; Daughter, Marsha Miley of Daytona Beach, FL; Son and Daughter-in-Law; John Paul and Tonia Vickers of Hahira, GA; Grandchildren, Courtney and Will Warren, Jared Henry Hall, Jocelyn and Matt Tanner, Alexis and TJ McCullough, Logan Newton, John Landon Vickers, Taylor Vickers and Bridger Turner, and Garrett Drew Vickers; Three very special loved great grandchildren, Stella Jewell Warren, Brinson Drew Turner and Adalyn Marie McCullough; his best friend and Brother, Bobby Vickers and his wife Grace Vickers; many precious nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday September the 9th, 2016 at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Hahira, with burial to follow at the cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Music Funeral Services in Valdosta, GA.
