Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1942 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to the late Cristino Dávila and Isabel María Marrero. José was retired from the Electric company in Puerto Rico and had served in the United States Air Force. While he loved spending time with his family, José was always available and supportive of them no matter their needs, he remained active in their daily lives. If not joking around making them laugh, he could be found traveling, going to the beach, working on puzzles, math and most importantly, his afternoon naps.
Survivors include: Wife of 43 years, Minerva Olavarrieta of Valdosta; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, José M. Dávila Olavarrieta (Tamara Robles) of N.C.; Alexis J. Dávila Olavarrieta (Joy Caldwell) of Hampton, GA; Carlos Dávila Santiago of Gainesville, FL; José A. Dávila Santiago of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 5 Grandchildren; Maritza “Ritzy” Dávila, Daryana Dávila, Karla Dávila, Carlitos Dávila, Carolina Dávila and several extended family members.
