Passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 a after lengthy illness. He was born March 9, 1923 in Alachua County, Florida to the late Robert Wilton and Laura Ardell Crosby Howell. He served in the Army Air Corp and later became a welder for Tidewater Equipment. He was a member of the Lakeland Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie L. Howell; son, Donald Robert Howell, a granddaughter, Heidi Vaughan; 3 Sisters, Winnie Walker, Virginia McLeod, Mildred Bowen; 2 Brothers, Hershel Howell and Ardell Howell
Survivors include: Daughter, Rose Marie Vaughan, Danielsville, GA; 2 Sons-Daughter-In-Laws, Dave & Evelyn Roberts Howell, Lake Park, GA, Ken & Jeri Lea Howell, Alapaha, GA; Grandchildren: Edwin Vaughan, Aliciabeth Everett, David Howell, Joya Strank, Keith Howell, Kevin Howell, Sherry Rowe, Valerie Garza, Melanie Howell, Katrina Latham, Becky Joe Mixon, Joseph Jacob Howell, Dirwin Prine, Mindy Bates; 27 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother, John Robert Howell, Valdosta, GA and A number of wonderful Nieces & Nephews
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the Joe Howell Cemetery.
