Joseph H. Reilly, 60, died on January 9th, 2018, at his home in Hahira, GA.
He was born on August 28th, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Loretta (Plonski) Reilly. He attended St. Hedwig’s Elementary School and St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School.
After high school, Joe worked in the steel industry briefly and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1976 where he served tours at McGuire AFB in New Jersey, Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Lajes Field in the Azores, and Moody Air Force Base. Joe was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1993.
After the Air Force, Joe taught electronics at Valdosta High School and then changed careers as a truck driver. He continued to serve the military by deploying as a civilian to Kuwait working in the logistics field where he served several tours from 2003 to 2005.
While assigned to Moody, Joe planted roots in Valdosta and the surrounding community.
Joe is survived by his wife Lois (Texas) of 30 years, 2 children, Joseph L. Reilly (wife Michelle) living in the Boston area and Joyce Ann Reilly living in Atlanta.
Joe is also survived by his mother, Loretta, who lives in Valdosta and brother John (wife Michelle) living in California.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 14th 2018 at the Charity Baptist Church
4690 Shiloh Rd, Hahira, GA 31632 where he was of the Baptist faith.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Charity Baptist Church.
