Judith Marlene Puckett, 86, went home to her heavenly father on November 23, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. She was born on April 14, 1932 in Lakeland, GA to the late Iril and Evelyn Wetherington. Judy was a very loving and caring person. She loved all things that God made. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valdosta, Ga for greater than 60 years. She was a busy lady her entire life. She was a dental assistant, a hotel manager in Daytona Beach and Valdosta, GA, and a patient representative at the information desk at SGMC for many years. She volunteered as a pink lady for more than 30 years, she was an artist, an avid animal supporter and served as librarian for her church. She welcomed all in her home and her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Jack Heywood Puckett, as well as her daughter Cheri Lynn Wilder- Puckett.
She is survived by her cousins Raney White of Hahira, GA and Sandra Connell of Stockton, GA., her son Glenn H. Puckett (Tracy) of South Carolina, five grandchildren: Justin G. Puckett (Alina), Jonathan H. Puckett (Amber), Jeremy T. Shaffer (Jen), Victoria R. Kent and Summer E. Kent (John), and six great grandchildren Caroline, Amelia, Robert, Thomas, Emerson and soon to arrive Jace.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at
