Julian Norman – 90

Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 17, 1924 in Valdosta, GA to the late Joseph Curtis and Annie Ruth Prosser Norman. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Norman and Ralph Norman and by a sister, Vivian Colson. He was the owner of Norman Appliance Services before being employed by Sears for 24 years as a service technician. Mr. Norman was a member of the Perimeter Road Baptist Church and he loved to garden and fish. This past Thursday we said good bye to Papa, a very special man. His faith and faithfulness have brought abundant favor on his family. He was a wonderful man and made sure that all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren knew the salvation of the gospel and the love of Jesus. You never left his house without a full stomach and a full heart. We'll miss Papa's boiled peanuts and fried fish.

He is survived by his Wife of 67 years, Evelyn Welch Norman of Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Ruthanne Eldridge of Baxley, GA; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Frank & Cissy Norman of Valdosta, GA, Don & Dabney Norman of Jacksonville, FL; Grandchildren, Jeremy & Leslie Norman, Keely Norman, Halle & Jason Hannaford, Reuben Eldridge, Erin & Matt McCoy, Jennifer Norman, Kelly Norman; 8 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Mable Meeks of McClenny, FL; Sarah McDonald of Valdosta, GA; Brothers & Sisters-in-Laws, Jimmie & Vivian Norman of Berlin, GA, Jerry & Mary Laura Norman of Valdosta, GA, Charles Norman of Texas; And several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Perimeter Road Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
