Justin Matthew Gay, age 33, of Lake Park, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. He was born in Valdosta, GA on July 13, 1992, to loving parents, Christopher Gay and Louise Tina Russ.
Justin was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting, fishing—especially bass fishing—and spending time riding his motorcycle or relaxing on the lake. He truly loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy nature and the simple pleasures of life. Justin also loved good food and especially cherished his mama’s cooking, which always brought him comfort and happiness. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed watching the games.
He had a bright, infectious personality and remained a big kid at heart, always bringing laughter and energy wherever he went. Justin never met a stranger and formed deep friendships with many people whom he loved dearly. He was the kind of person who would always show up for others, offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply his presence when it was needed most. His loving spirit, kind heart, and fun-loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia Lokey Fulghum, Ruth Goodwin and Robert Lee Gay.
Justin is survived by his loving parents, Tina Russ (Mark) of Scotts Hill, Tennessee and Christopher Gay of Lake Park, Georgia; son, Braxton Gay of Raleigh, NC; mother of his son, Erica Smith of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Jonathan Gay (Erin) of Adel, GA and Jordan Gay of Grand Rapids, MI; grandfather, Mike Fulghum of Hahira, GA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
