Karen Bland Cothron – 67
Of Clyattville, GA passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta on November 28, 1953 to the late James & Gladys (Sullivan) Bland. She was a member of the Lake Park First Baptist Church and was very active in her Sunday School Class. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, meme and friend. She was affectionately known to everyone as “Meme.” Her family was everything to her. She was the happiest with a table full of family and friends, while she was standing in the kitchen cooking. She enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening and fellowshipping with family and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Jackson and brother, Gene Bland.
Survivors Include: Husband of 49 years: Mitchell “Big Daddy” Cothron, Clyattville; Daughter & Son-in-law: Kim & Coy Fussell, Valdosta; Son: Mitch Cothron, Valdosta; Meme’s pride and joy: Kailey Fussell, Kenna Fussell, Leacy Cothron & Tripp Cothron; Brother & Sister-in-law: Jerry & Linda Bland, Pinetta, FL; Daughter-in-law: Laura Cothron, Lake Park, GA; Brother-in-law: Wayne Cothron, Clyattville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in the Lake Park First Baptist Church with burial following in Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery, Pinetta, Fl.
