Kathleen Desilva

Kathleen Grace DeSilva – 90 of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Lake Haven Nursing Home. She was born on December 3, 1928 in Bermuda to the late Henry and Kathleen (Costillo) Smith. Kathleen was of the Seventh Day Adventist Faith. She married John DeSilva June 5, 1950 in Bermuda. In 1952, they had Roslyn which was her only daughter. For many years she was a hospital housekeeper. Above all, Kathleen valued her family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Along with her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband John DeSilva; 10 siblings Gladys Homes, Winiford Smith, James Smith and other sisters and brothers; great grandson, Jared Andrew Storey.
Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-law: Roslyn & Louis M. Storey of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Jason Storey (Theresa) of Alpharetta, GA, Jeremy Storey (Mya) of Valdosta, GA, Jeffery Storey (Gladys) of Valdosta, GA and Rebecca Storey of Valdosta, GA; Great Grandchildren: Juleah Martin, Justin Manac, Brittany Herndon, Zoey Storey, Ashlyn Storey, Nathan Storey, Taylor Storey, Emily Storey, Ethan Storey and Paxton Storey; Great Great Grandson, Daniel Flores and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2019 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. A private burial will be held in Cat Creek Cemetery at a later date.
