Kathleen White Wildes
Kathleen White Wildes, age 87 of Lake Seminole, Donalsonville, Georgia, died early Christmas morning in Lilburn, Georgia.
A native of Seminole County, Georgia, she graduated from Seminole High in 1944, and began a 34-year career with Southern Bell Telephone Company working in Atlanta, Valdosta, Waycross, and Savannah. She retired in 1981 as Manager of Operator Services in Savannah, Georgia. During this time, she was President of the Valdosta Council of the Telephone Pioneers of America for one term, the Waycross Council for one term, and the Savannah Council for two terms. She was also President of the Waycross Pilot Club for two terms and represented them at international meetings held in Boston, Massachusetts, and San Francisco, California.
Ms. Wildes was an active member of Mothers against Drunk Driving and assisted underprivileged children while living in Waycross, Georgia.
Ms. Wildes joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Idus C. White and Maude Brunson White, and a son, William Gregory Wildes. She was previously married to William O. Wildes, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Sharon and Donnie Musgrove of Lilburn, Georgia, and Leah and Jimmy Sister of Waycross, Georgia; sons and daughters in law, Chip and Louise Wildes of Valdosta, Georgia, Maxie and Dee Wildes of Savannah, Georgia, and JJ and Michelle Wildes of Donalsonville, Georgia; and 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery of Valdosta, GA William O. Wildes, Sr. will officiate. Condolences may be expressed online at
