Of Lakeland passed away Saturday January 1, 2005 in an automobile accident. He was born on February 3, 1952 in Lowndes County and had lived in Lanier County for the past 10 years. Mr. Shear was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Joseph Shear and a nephew, Timmy Shear.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 5, 2005 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
