Kem Mancil – 59 of Lakeland passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Tifton, GA on September 11, 1958 to the late Jimmy & Patti (Exum) Mancil. He began his career in the family oil business where he worked for over 37 years. He was currently employed as Operations Manager for Advanced Environmental Technologies, LLC., He was a member of The Gathering, UMC in Valdosta, GA and served the Lord through various men’s ministries. His love for his family and children was evident in his participation in many of their activities.
Survivors include his wife of almost 20 years, Shannon Sears Mancil, one daughter, Elizabeth, two sons, Thomas and Samuel, and one granddaughter, Emory, all of Lakeland. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon Mancil also of Lakeland.
A celebration of Kem’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at The Gathering, 4381 Forrest Street Ext., Valdosta, GA with burial following at Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Flipside Band, c/o Thomas Mancil (Drummer), 110 Giddens Road, Lakeland, GA 31635.
