Kenneth Wayne Schaeffer – 80
Of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Born on December 3, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the beloved son of the late Warren Michael Schaeffer and Florence Schaeffer.
Kenneth proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he earned his certification as an Architectural Engineer and dedicated over 20 years to his profession in Washington, D.C., before retiring.
In 1973, Kenneth married his high school sweetheart, and together they embarked on a fulfilling life journey. Known for his adventurous spirit, he had a passion for motorcycles and rode regardless of the weather. An exceptional cook, Kenneth also cherished gardening and was a devoted knife collector, taking great pleasure in customizing knife handles.
Kenneth’s legacy will be remembered through the love he shared with his family and the many passions he pursued throughout his life.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Warren Michael Schaeffer, Jr. and sister, Carol Viado.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Scottie Schaeffer of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Melissa Ann Quiros of Hernando County, Florida; grandchildren: Juan Quiros, Jr. and Alexis Quiros; great grandchildren: Brody Doyle and Ava Doyle all of Seminole County, Florida; nieces: Darlene Schaeffer, Dawn Schaeffer and Debbie Viado all of Maryland; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta. Kind words, good memories and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
