Kenneth May, Sr. - 76
of Lakeland, Georgia passed away Friday August 24, 2012 at home after a lengthy illness with his loving family by his side. He was born August 10, 1936 in Nashville, Berrien County, Georgia to the late Glenn and Ava Nell Gaskins May. Mr. May joined the United States Army at the age of 17 and served his country for 6 years. A glazier by trade, he lived in several places before returning back to this area in 1994. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde May.
He is survived by his loving wife: Ruth Ann Doner May of Lakeland, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law: Phillip & Tina Moody of Chula, GA,;Son & Daughter-in-law: Kenneth, Jr & Samantha May of Enigma, GA; Step Son: Jeffrey & Chris Strasser of Shallotte, NC; Grandchildren: Chad & Stephanie Griffin, Kay Cee May; Step Grandchildren: Brittany, Heather, and Lance Moody, Justin, Ryan, Aaron Amanda and Emily Gibson, Zachary & Dillan Frazier, Landon Rainey, Brother & Sister-in-law: Carroll & Verma May of Nashville, GA; Several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Gaskins Cemetery in Berrien County, Georgia with burial to follow. The family will receive friends at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland from 1:30 pm until time to go in a procession to the cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Grace Hospice for all their support and wonderful care. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Berrien County Historical Society, P.O. Box 417, Nashville, Georgia, 31639, Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, P.O.
