Kermit R. Mancil – 92

Of Lakeland, passed away early Monday Morning November 8, 2004 at his residence. Born January 20, 1912, in Atkinson County, Kermit married Agnes Curry in 1932 before moving to Lakeland in 1934. Once in Lakeland, he worked for the Department of Transportation for 30 years, before being forced to retire. Where he was quoted saying, “seems a shame to make a man who can still work retire”. Mr. Mancil also farmed all of his life. As an active member of Unity United Methodist Church, he served on the Administrative Board as well as the Board of Trustees.
His wife, Agnes Curry Mancil, His brother, Kelly Mancil, sister, Lucille Drake, along with his parents preceded him in death.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 2:00 P.M at Unity United Methodist Church in Lanier County, with Burial in Unity Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Unity Church Memorial Fund, or the Fannie Pafford Memorial Fund
