Kevin Leo King, 55, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Hospice House-Satilla in Waycross, Georgia. Born on November 29, 1969, in Lakeland, he was the son of the late Larry Gordon King and Erma Vanel (Golden) King.
Kevin had a deep love for cooking and baking, earning a reputation for his culinary skills. He was particularly known for his delicious cakes, including his signature "Kings Cakes," which were always a hit. When not in the kitchen, Kevin enjoyed spending time playing board games, dice, and cards, sharing many enjoyable moments with family and friends. His warm spirit and passion for life will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Tony King of Lakeland, Georgia; nieces: Alecia King of Lakeland, Georgia, Heather Wells (Ken) of Naylor, Georgia and Sarah Waldrip of Jonesboro, Georgia; great nephews: Landon Hayes, Brooks Wells and Opie Wells; sister-in-law, Juanita King of Lakeland, Georgia; aunts and uncles: Jimmy Golden (Annette) of Lakeland, Georgia, Harold King (Cheryl) of Hoboken, Georgia, Wayne King (Shirley) of Montana and Annadean Clark of Deland, Florida; special cousins: Kaydee and Cody Mullis; several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice House-Satilla,
