L.A. Mathis

L.A. Mathis – 81 of Lakeland passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Lakeland Villa after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 30, 1936 in Lakeland, GA. He was a member of Cross Creek Baptist Church. He worked with Heavy Equipment with Coffee Construction Company for over 30 years. After he retired he worked at Bobby’s Citgo. His mother, Hattie Mathis Durrance, 2 brothers: Charles Griffis & Junior Durrance; Sister: Betty Jean Morgan and Aunt, Marie Dent preceded him in death.
Survivors Include: Brother: Clifford Durrance, Lakeland; Uncle: J.D. Mathis, Lakeland; Aunt & Uncle: Doris & John Avery, Lakeland and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in the Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Langdale Hospice House or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
