Lamar Booth – 94 of Ray City passed away Monday, August 07, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 5, 1923 to the late Jessie E. & Ann (Autery) Booth in Sirmans, FL. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and participated in the D-Day Normandy Invasion of France. Mr. Booth was a member of Ray City First Baptist Church. He owned and operated Ray’s Mill Pond and can be remembered by always a smile and “Anywhere, Anywhere” for the guest who entered the Restaurant. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers & 1 sister.
Survivors Include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Dan & Doris Booth, Ray City, GA, Daughter & Son-in-law, Linda & Bill Goodwin, Franklin, TN, Son & Daughter-in-law, Larry & Joyce Booth, Nashville, GA; Grandchildren: Jason Booth(Sarah), Heather Heard(Michael), Will Goodwin & Eric Booth; Great Grandchildren: Ashton Booth, Arabella Booth, Elizabeth Booth, Harrison Booth, Alex Heard, Virginia Goodwin & Rosie Goodwin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the Ray City First Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. Booth will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening, August 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
