Lamar Bennett – 60

Of Lakeland passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born March 12, 1947 in Lanier County to the late Dan & Ida V. Bennett. He was the former pastor of Sirmans Baptist Church where he was affectionately known as “Preacher”. Currently he was serving as the Associate Pastor of Fountain of Faith Mission Church. He was a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #434 and Nashville Eastern Star Chapter #334. He is preceded in death by a nephew, Marion Thomas “Cowboy” Bennett, Jr.

Survivors include: Wife, Dorothy H. Bennett, Lakeland, GA; Daughter, Selena Jackson, Lakeland, GA; 2 Granddaughters Misty & Savannah Johnson; Brother & Sister-In-Law, Marion & Emma Dale Bennett, Stockton, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Fender Cemetery. Masonic Rites were rendered at the graveside.
