Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday morning July 15, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brooks County on March 19, 1935 to the late Marvin D & Sunnie Rowell LeGette. He was a member of the local Union # 903 Carpenter Union and was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean LeGette, sister, Sara Katherine NeSmith, and brothers, M.D. LeGette and Bobby LeGette.
Mr. LeGette was survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Joan LeGette, Valdosta, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Lisa LeGette, Jennings, FL, grandchildren, Joshua LeGette, Barrett LeGette, Sara LeGette, brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry & Joyce LeGette, Valdosta, GA, Billy Joe & Sherry LeGette, Panama City, FL, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Sheila & Russ Dorminey, Valdosta, GA, Lennis & Pat Bennett, Valdosta, GA, Martha Ward, Valdosta, GA, Virginia Flurry, Buffalo, NY, J.L. & Barbara Bennett, Lake Park, GA, a number of Nieces and Nephews
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2008 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
