Of Hahira, GA passed away on April 22, 2019 at his residence. He was born on January 17, 1940 in Seward, Nebraska to the late John and Emma (Buls) Backhus. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his Daughter and Son-In-Law, Laura and Mike Calvert of Hahira, GA; Daughter, Lorraine O’Neal of Hahira, GA; Grandson and wife, Jeff and Kristin Calvert of Hahira, GA; Grandson, Marshal Calvert of Hahira, GA; Granddaughter and husband Jennifer and Mike Sumner of Hahira, GA; Granddaughter and husband Trish and Robert Roe of Hahira, GA; Six great grandchildren
Graveside services will be held at 5:30 PM Saturday, April 27, 2019 on the family property located on 5111 Coppage Road in Hahira, GA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The Backhus Family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.
