Laura Allen Kinsey House, 87, entered into Glory with her Savior on Saturday February 25, 2023 where she peacefully passed at home surrounded by loved ones. Ms. House was born at home on February 22, 1936, in Echols County, GA to the late Heber Floyd Kinsey and Lilla Mae Padgett Kinsey.
She was a faithful and patient wife to her late husband, Mr. Gil House for whom she was married for 60 years and shares two sons and a daughter: Charles G. House and wife Elizabeth of Valdosta, GA, Rocco House and wife Faye of Lake Park, GA, and Carole House Van Kleef and husband Lee also of Lake Park, GA. She has 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandbabies which she loved very much. A cherished little sister Carolyn Kinsey Rivers of Chesterfield, VA and two older sisters which preceded her in death, Claudia Hedge of Tifton, GA and Kitty Norman of Moultrie, GA. Laura had a special childhood best friend Jeanette McCurdy of Lake Park, GA. She also made several friends where she worked as a seamstress for over 30 years at Levi Strauss. One of those friends became her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Caldwell House.
Ms. House was an avid Bible and book reader. She also enjoyed finding words in her word find book. During her last months, the words that she would find were in mid-air and all around her, she would continually spell them out loud. Those words surely held spiritual significance and solace for her loved ones. If Laura could speak to our hearts today she would tell us that she'd heard of that old saying that actions speak louder than words, but not to let that saying diminish the power of words. They are important! Use your words with love, to cultivate understanding, to heal division, and most of all, to help build the Kingdom of Heaven.
Ms. House accepted Jesus as her Savior in her teenage years and looked to the Lord consistently through a devoted prayer life. While this is a time of mourning, her loved ones are comforted knowing that she has stepped into paradise at this time that Christ has appointed just for her.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)
There will be a graveside service held at 2:00 pm Thursday March 2, 2023 where she will be laid to rest at Kinsey Cemetery on J. Frank Culpepper Rd. in Echols Co.
