Lennie Mattie Morgan, 68, of Stockton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1956, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Willie Bennett and Mary Magdalene (Lightsey) Bennett.
Lennie was known for her exceptional work ethic and dedication. She proudly served her country in the United States Army, demonstrating her strength and commitment. After her military service, she embarked on a distinguished career in the prison system, where she worked her way up to the position of Wardens Assistant before retiring.
An independent and strong-willed woman, Lennie had a deep love for travel and enjoyed spoiling her beloved dogs, whom she treated as her own children. She also held a passionate interest in politics, always eager to learn more about the workings of the political world. Her contributions and love for her family, friends, and community will always be remembered.
In addition to her parents, Lennie Mattie Morgan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry A. Morgan, Sr., and her two sisters, Pearl Dozier and Rosa Lee Bennett McCullers. She is also preceded by her six brothers: Billy Bennett, Johnny Bennett, Bobby Bennett, Eddie Bennett, Leon Bennett, and Lawton Bennett.
Survivors include her son, Larry A. Morgan, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Mayday, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Morgan and Harley Morgan; her beloved great-grandson, Brody Easton Browning; her brother, Jimmy Bennett (Kathy) of Stockton, Georgia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss her.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Good Hope Cemetery, Naylor, Georgia.
