Leonard Thornton Jr. – 69
Of Lake Park, GA passed away on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, GA. He was born on September 14, 1950 in Valdosta, GA to the late Leonard Sr. and Blanche (Carter) Thornton. Leonard worked as a logger for over 30 years, and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved the outdoors, watching his son Eric race, riding motorcycles, and sharing with everyone he came in contact with about the word of the Lord. One of his favorite sayings was he was blessed by the best, regardless of our mess, too blessed to be stressed, it’s all God and it’s all good, Amen
He is survived by: Sons; Eric (Rena) Thornton of Lake Park, GA, Donnie (Audrey) Gray of Ray City, GA; Daughters, Mandy Thornton of Lake Park, GA, Ashlie Thornton of Douglas, GA, Tammy (David) Mosher of Lake Butler, FL; 12 grandchildren: Dylan (Hannah) Runnels, Turner Thornton, Corbin Bailey, Cambree Hargraves, Blayden Ray, Braidy Ray, Benelli Ray, Nathan Gray, Taylor Gray, Julianna Gray, Jake Gray, Kyle (Taylor) Masher; 2 Great Grandchildren: Dallas Gray and Maya Gray; Sister Linda Thornton; Nephew Richard; Nieces Pamela and Sharon, Special Friend and Mother of his children JoAnn Thornton; Best friend Bud Bassford.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 18, 2019 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in The Corinth Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
