Linda Faye Hipps, age 79, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1943 to the late Thedra Tharpe Fowler and Robert E. Lee Fowler. Linda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Mother Advisor in Germany for the Rainbow Girls. She was a loving mother, enjoyed fishing, watching her grandkids play baseball, and enjoyed cooking. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cephas Hipps; a son, Duane Hipps; two of her brothers, Donnie Fowler and Richard Fowler; and a daughter-in-law, Felicia Parry.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Gina King of Beaufort, South Carolina; her son, Robert Hipps of Valdosta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren: Edward and wife Ashley, Robert and wife Haley, PatsyFaye, Adam, Brittany, Cody, Marion and husband Danny: 14 great grandchildren: Preston, Kyleigh, Makenna, Mercy, Koah, Brooks, Blaise, Berkleyann, Axel, Hazel, Malorie, Daniel and wife Brooke, Kayla and wife Harley, Jennesee and husband Webb; a brother, Robert A. Fowler of Dothan, Alabama; 4 great-great-grandchildren: Gabby, Landon, Bryson, and Sophia; 2 special care givers: Lei Brown and James Carver, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock pm, Friday, February 10, 2023 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
