Linda Gail (Bailey) Johnson, age 77, of Conley, Georgia, passed away on September 23, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on June 27,1947 to the late James Emory Bailey and Pearl Roberts. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Johnson, of 56 years, her sons Keith Johnson of Sharpsburg and Jim “Gym” Johnson (Jill) of Marietta. She is also survived by her nephews, Dan Cooley (Kathy) of Ray City, and Chad Cooley (Amanda and daughter Kennah) of Eastman. Linda was proceeded in death by her father Emory bailey, mother Pearl Bailey, and sister Carol Cooley.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 44 years where she served in the Children’s Ministry. Linda was a teacher for 42 years and retired in 2020 from Anderson Elementary in Clayton County. She was a member of Daughters of the American revolution, a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, and a lifetime member of the VFW in Nashville, Georgia, Post 5978. She was a dedicated wife, mother, friend, and mentor. Linda loved her Lord and Savior and found great peace in knowing that she could trust Him fully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City, Georgia. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Lakeland chapel of Music Funeral Services with a procession to the cemetery following the visitation.
